Black Powder and Brimstone is a gunpowder and withchcraft infused TTRPG, a complete stand-alone game based on and compatible with the multi-award-winning apocalyptic heavy metal RPG MÖRK BORG. This wicked cauldron of a game is packed to the brim with with lore, explosions, magic, war, and demons. Written and illustrated by Benjamin Tobitt, the game will be printed and distributed by the rockstar company Free League. Although the rules may be light, the lore is not. The world of Black Powder and Brimstone is fully realised, and the book will be packed with lore and information about the setting and its people, as well as hundreds of atmospheric illustrations to get players and GM’s into the world and tone of the setting. 

The rules are brutal in their simplicity, and elegant in their brutality;

• Four stats: Agility, Presence, Strength, Toughness.
• Tests are performed with a d20 + Ability vs. a Difficulty Rating (usually 12).
• Combat critical hits on natural 20 for devestating effects. No need to roll to confirm.
• Three Armour Tiers: Light (d2), Medium (d4), and Heavy (d6) Your Armour does not help you avoid a hit, but determines how much damage is deflected. 
• All rolls are player facing; when a character is attacked by an NPC, the player rolls Agility to dodge the attack. So no more fudge rolls from your sweet and kindly GM this time.
  
  As well as the superbly crafted base rules inspired by Mörk Borg, there are new custom made rules for:
• Cavalry combat, chase mechanics, hiring mercenaries, travel, camping, hunting, getting drunk, going mad, customizing a war wagon, pushing your luck and much more. 
  
  
• Pick from five main classes, with a total of fifteen subclasses, and create a unique character in minutes to get straight into the action.
• Wield characterful and deadly weapons, each with their own special and devastating rules to make each one unique, these include the dreaded black powder weapons. Infernal devices that ignore all armour on a hit, and can cause as much mayhem and destruction to the wielder as their target.
• As well as weapons, there are forbidden and powerful magics that can warp reality as easily as an artist paints a canvas. But beware, magic is as dangerous as it is powerful, and if you use it in front of the wrong people... prepare to deal with the dreaded agents of the Inquisition. 

There are more than just dangerous men to be wary of in VaterLand. Demons, tides of rats and the victims of the dreaded Staggering Pox stalk the land.  Included is a bestiary of over thirty unique enemies, each with their own illustration, lore, and simple stat block.
