Swords: Cut the Deck is a tabletop role-playing card game based on the award-winning webcomic, SWORDS. In this game, a variety of odd heroes use funny and fearsome weapons in epic skirmishes. Who will prove their skill with the blade? And who will die by the sword?
Cut the Deck brings a full roster of fantastical heroes into the fray wielding dozens and dozens of strange and mystical swords! With tens of thousands of unique builds, it cuts different every time you play.
Dozens of your favorite webcomic artists have come on board to lend their art to the project too, including some big names we're happy to shout about like Cyanide & Happiness, Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal and Litterbox Comics.
At the core of Swords: Cut the Deck is an exciting and original battle system (more on that below). We’ve taken that system and wrapped it inside several playable scenarios. This makes Cut the Deck a game forged to please everyone! You can play a quick 5 minute PvP match with a frenemy, or dive deep into an hours-long co-operative dungeon crawl.
The Pointy Bits team are made up of the following brave knights:
Matthew: The author of the award-winning webcomic SWORDS and lead artist of the project. Swords is celebrating its Vth anniversary and 700th episode in style with the launch of this card game. Matthew is also well-known for the art in other projects such as the award-winning mobile game Clusterduck.
Thane: As the developer of SwordsComic.com, Thane has worked with Matt on SWORDS for almost as long as it's been around. Professionally, he works in the video game industry as a programmer and mechanics designer. Thane is the creator of Cut the Deck's mechanics and also handles the manufacturing pipeline.
Kaitlin: Social media guru and master wordsmith. She wields the sharpest puns and most cutting remarks, and is often seen wearing many hats to get things over the finish line!
